WHAT IS THE KOKORO THERAPY METHOD©?

The KOKORO THERAPY METHOD© is a complete REBOOT for the body and mind!

“Kokoro” is a Japanese word that describes the connection between the body, mind, spirit and emotions.  Euphoria’s Kokoro Therapy Method© is a unique service designed to facilitate emotional and physical healing.  Unlike traditional “talk” therapies that tend to focus on your issues, this method, instead, encourages redirection of your thoughts OFF of your problems and onto stillness and/or more positive aspects of your life.   (Please Note: Talk Therapy is an extremely valid and helpful process and I am not in any way attempting to de-value it.)

This effective path to whole person healing follows a specific, results-driven protocol that implements soothing sound vibrations, essential oils, guided exercises in breathing, gratitude, mindfulness and meditation, all while receiving a traditional full body massage.

This powerful combination of practices will quiet your mind while suspending and redirecting your negative thought patterns toward more positive feeling thoughts.   This system was designed to allow your muscles to let go of, not only physically rooted tension, but emotional tension as well.  This is a complete, whole-person therapy that heals both emotionally and physically.  This method will teach the recipient how the brain works, how thoughts become emotions, how emotions become stress and will give them the tools they need to recognize, redirect and overcome negative thought patterns that can create emotional and physical stressors and blockages.

WHY DO I NEED THE KOKORO THERAPY METHOD©?

As a massage therapist for many years, I came to realize that no matter how relaxing a massage can be for the body, many clients are unable to quiet their minds, hindering their ability to fully let go, relax and receive the maximum benefits that bodywork can provide.  It is for this reason that the Kokoro Therapy Method© was created.

The separation of mind and body is an illusion. The mind and body are two parts of a whole system.  When one part is experiencing pain, stress or suffering, the other will suffer equally.  Much of our physical tension is emotionally rooted from past traumas, hurts, fears, guilt, depression, addictions and mood disorders.  These negative emotions can all become trapped deep within our muscle tissue; referred to as muscle memory.

These trapped emotions can cause pain, tension, energy blockages and the inability to let go of negative thought patterns.  While a traditional massage is a wonderful way to release the body’s tension and interrupt the fight or flight reaction, if your mind’s negative thought patterns don’t stop or shut off during your massage, (which is the case for many clients) you are limiting the beneficial healing you are receiving.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A SESSION?

Your KOKORO THERAPY METHOD© experience will begin with a thorough consultation and a basic lesson in the techniques that will be used in the session.  Each session will be unique, as each individual’s needs will vary, but every treatment protocol will include a full body massage and  guided techniques in:

BREATHING:  Proper, controlled breathing triggers neurons in the brain inducing calm, relaxation and a sense of peace and letting go.

SOUND/VIBRATION HEALING:  All matter vibrates at specific frequencies.  Using the power of audio and specific vibrations can help to heal and repair damaged tissue and alter brainwaves to achieve a happier state.

AROMATHERAPY:  The use of certain combinations of essential oils can reduce anxiety, depression, stress and can facilitate healing.

MINDFULNESS:  the practice of mindfulness teaches us to focus in the moment and to shut down past ruminations and future worries, creating peace in the present.

GUIDED MEDITATION:  Guided meditation not only helps to quiet the mind, it can help to encourage a sense of calm and relaxation.  Meditation gives us peace, perspective and the focus we need to change and control our own lives.  Guided meditations can effect specific changes based on our needs.  (i.e. overcoming addictions and fears, releasing anxiety, increasing self-esteem, etc.)

GRATITUDE:  The intentional practice of gratitude places our focus on what we DO have instead of what we DO NOT have.  When we continually focus on the things that we are grateful for, our brain chemistry actually changes and attracts MORE of the things that make us grateful, creating less stress and more happiness.

MASSAGE:  The physical benefits of massage are endless, but massage has the ability to release trapped muscular tension.  Combined with the above therapies, massage can release the tension caused by trapped emotions as well.  Massage also has the ability to shut down our fight or flight reaction to stress.
